Nehru Gandhi family scion?

Editor TheTimesofIndia. Date:02-02-2010

In your Times Nation page 12, dated 2/2/10, you report about the mission of Rahul in Bihar, you used the adjectives “Gandhi scion” to his name. In another article on the same subject some days back you used ”Nehru Gandhi family scion “, when referring to Rahul”s name. We do not understand what relevance the name of Gandhi and which Gandhi you and so many other Medias meant when praising words are showered n Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka. If it is Mahatma Gandhi, it is absurd and merely a sycophancy. Gandhiji is not linked in any way to Nehru family, the former a Banyan and the latter a Kashmiri Brahmin. More over Gandhiji never involved in the governance of the country after independence. Nehru and his family ruled the Country for most of the 63 years after independence. In fact Gandhiji was away in West Bengal to console the victims of Communal Riots there , when India became independent on 15/08/47. From Indira onwards down to Sonia and Rahul the name of “Gandhi” is unauthorisedly added to their names to mislead the poor and illiterate people, instead of using the names of husbands/father s, as is the usual practice in vogue. Why these leaders prefer Gandhiji”s name? .

Some men are born great, some become great by their own good deeds and services to Nation and some are made great by sycophants by praising with nonexistent merit.

I shall be thankful to you if you please clarify on what basis and on what relevance you made these references whenever Sonia/Rahul comes in your article/reports. I have written to you on some previous occasions on this subject, but none found a place in your print. I am a reader of TOI since its inception in Bangalore and have appreciated on the bold stand taken by you. I shall thank you to please give me your valuable clarifications on the above anomaly. It is surprising that no such adjectives are used in respect of Varun or Menaka, who are in the very same line of Nehru family and are also in politics, winning elections continuously. I believe you will be kind enough to remove the curiosity on the subject of a Non-Vip reader of TOI.
