Muslims in India & Pakistan, Wake Up!

We have entered the age of Islamic Terrorism – world over people are stunned by the vicious attacks using guerrilla warfare to terrorize the common man. The world is relating terror to Islam. Religious fanatic uprisings exist elsewhere in other religions, but why are the Islamic terrorists making so much noise?

What is the ‘psychiatric training’ these young minds get which moulds them into dangerous, audacious and suicidal criminals? And, how can we quieten them?

On 30th September 2005, Danish cartoons associating Prophet Mohammed with terror led to huge protests in many countries including in India and Pakistan. Indian States with a large Muslim population namely, Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, Kerala saw aggressive protests. And Pakistan meanwhile saw country-wide protest including voices from the Parliament. There have been other incidents in the past which have instigated a Muslim uprising.

The terrorists are staining Islam with blood. We need the people who represent true values of Islam to speak up. What India or Pakistan need today is neither blood nor war. Instead, we need to channelize our energies into fighting the poverty and illiteracy which is eating away large chunks of our populations. Muslims in India and Pakistan need to stand up for their religion, peacefully – for they can see both sides of the coin and ultimately put an end to this man against man war.

My first encounter with BIAL!

To the point by N.S.Balram, setting the priorities for the new CM is well timed and important, especially the mention about the urgent and hasty change over from HAL airport to the New Bengaluru International Airport and the parting points addressing to the chairman Mr Brunner.

New international airport Bengaluru was expected to de-congest the heavy passenger and air traffic congestion of the existing HAL airport. Whether BIAL is able to achieve this objective, time will be the judge. I am sharing my experience at the new International airport of BIAL on 24th May, 2008, DAY ONE of its operation for the kind information of general public and the appreciation of the new BJP government at Vidhan Soudha in Bengaluru to take correct decisions.

The media was more concerned about the slow moving vehicles and the traffic congestions, highlighting only the bad roads and high density vehicles on the new airport road. They have been successful in providing sufficient warning to buffer the long traveling time to reach the Airport. The Passenger commutation from the various parts of the city is professionally managed by the BMTC with their A/C Volvo busses and the Non A/C Suvarna buses. Thanks to BMTC and the authorities in their pro active approach in providing the right connections my journey took less than an hour in the wee hours of the day.

But, here is what the rest of the experience feels like.

My flight could take off about 2 hours after the passengers boarded and were locked inside the aircraft, while waiting in queue for 3 flights before us to take-off! I was traveling to Kochi to conduct a corporate training program for senior managers, and requested an apology for the delay with the genuine excuse of initial hiccups at the new Bengaluru International Airport as consoled by the BIAL chairman, was well accepted by the participantsJ.

What makes me more disappointed is the inadequate space and facilities at BIAL. The parking place is inadequate and badly organized, leading to a lot of dust and mud raised by the moving vehicles, thus making the brand new lounge muddy.

The conveyor belts looked so old that I was not comfortable risking my expensive suitcase to check in the baggage. While entering the Airport, I felt good looking at fly over, but all my proud moments ceased a muddy, dusty alighting and departure area approached me.

The security is routine, who then allow the passengers to the crowded platform looks like Kolkata Railway station or Majestic bus station. You see a long line of check-in counters, many not even identified with an airlines or a flight. The display indicators are mini LCD TV screens carefully located, with many lines of information, not readable from the normal viewing distance and hence creating a crowd near the displays to identify the right check-in counters.

I then had a hard time locating my queue to reach the counters, due fewer counters than departures. I have been experiencing a similar situation in the HAL airport for the past so many years and have become an expert in pushing and pulling to some how manage to get my boarding pass. There were at least 30 – 40 passengers standing in front of each of the checking counters, with no idea of what is going to happen. We were having a déjà vu experience!

The security frisking and hand baggage screening process did not take much time even though the number of equipment seemed to be same as that of HAL Airport. Suddenly then you reach a big and busy shopping mall! We are received with a warm welcome by the sales executives of the various shops-restaurants, jewellers, luggage, book shops and garment stores etc. The ‘mall’ was occupying a larger chunk of space than the seating accommodation and space in the security hold. Some of the media suggestion of converting the existing HAL airport to a mega shopping mall seems a good idea as this may provide better profitability than the airport operation as seen in BIAL!

And if you by any chance you need to use a wash room, get prepared to experience the worse hygiene, one which will never stand the test of an international airport standard.

Be prepared for one last disappointment - no aero bridge.

I sincerely hope these are initial teething problems, and as time passes the passengers will get used to these problems and adjust to the ‘facilities’. There seems to be a good case to reopen the existing infrastructure facility at HAL to reduce the burden of increasing air passenger requirements and the flight traffic growth.

As a BJP supporter, I think Yeddy needs a spanking!

1st June, 08

Dear Sri Yeddyurappa

Hearty congratulations and good wishes to you and BJP for the exemplary performance and stepped in the southern Region. Pray God to bless with all prosperities in your new path for the good of the people of this country.

But you have created peculiar circumstances, which give us a doubt whether you could fulfill the aspirations of the People, to complete the term. From the very beginning you started fighting, and created the dissidents, within 24 hours of swearing-in ceremony. You should have settled the matter with Mr Shettar and others, beforehand through High command to avoid ugly scenes shown in the Media. It is shameful for us who elected you. The mishandling of BJP in 2004 missed a good chance for a 2nd term at the Centre, the India Shining and the stampede in sari distribution, worked against you. But it seems you have not learnt any lessons from the past. Be alert, otherwise the cunning opposition would topple your Govt, with the aid of the Media, early.

It is ridiculous on your part to conduct a Pooja inside CM’s Office in the Vidhan Soudha, which is a public place. In a secular democratic Country, such religious activities should not be allowed and it is most improper. We sympathize for your superstitions. The worst of it is, you permitted the function to be flashed in the Media with photos and many have started protesting. This had to be done privately.

Please understand that all other parties and almost all Media are against BJP and you should not fall in their net. We consider you as an Honest Politician capable of completing the term of the Govt. Do not remove the soil under your feet or defeated by self goals. We are sympathizers of BJP for many years and wish to see you in the saddle for long years. Avoid controversial statements and think twice before taking any decision. This is the last chance for BJP and if you fail, never again the people would support you. The dissidents problem should be solved immediately by involving your top leaders. With good wishes and Pray God to bless you with strength to govern the people of Karnataka to their satisfaction, irrespective of religion, caste or language.

Yours sincerely,

Money

OBC reservation

The Chief Justice of India,
Nw Delhi.

Respected sir,
27% reservation to OBC, Reopening of Gujarat Cases.

As a whole the Judgment on 27% reservation is welcome. But it is surprising to note that it is full of ambiguities and misleading versions .I regret very much that Persons of your status, write such a judgment with irrelevant findings, creating confusion althrough . Various people interpret and understand the judgment in different ways, which may lead ultimately to another fight. Perhaps you desired so. Example; is this judgment prohibits reservation to PG course, as the mention of the degree as base for deciding OBC status is not clearly understandable. Only one of your Judge mentions about it and others keeping a silent on it. Mr. Arjun Singh, the author of 27% reservation, said that it is applicable to PG course also and he instructed the institutions to implement it. Many others believe that PG course is out of the reservation belt. Which is the correct one?. The Creamy Layer is also another point Is it only an advice to the Govt, to exclude creamy layer or is it an order?. Pro reservation section says it is only a suggestion by the Court to the Govt. for consideration. If so what is the use of the long judgment written by the 5 judges. On the first day of the hearing, you can close the session by giving series of advices to Govt.in the matter. At least time and money could have been saved. In Malayalam, there is a proverb “Avanakkenna Soucham”. That is the correct word for your Judgment. As a Malayalee, you may understand the real meaning of the proverb. You should have unambiguously and categorically stated in the Judgment what to do and what not. Instead, you, without any co-ordination from other Judges, pronounced a verdict according to your whims and fancy, to favor the Ruling Party, who can make it a vote bank politics. I request you to please issue a clarification on all points of doubt, to avoid rush of cases from interested parties.
Recently you had ordered to reopen certain cases of Gujarat Riot., involving some minority sections. But I do not remember the Supreme court, took a similar view and ordered for reopening of cases, relating to1984 Sikh riot, another minority wing,,About 4000 Sikhs (mostly women and children) were massacred by Congress goondas,in retaliation of the killing of Indira Gandhi by her Sikh guard. About 1500 cases were registered for prosecution of the culprits, mostly VIPs congressmen (all Hindus). Not a single accused was punished so far, even after 24 years. I enclose a copy of an article in TOI dt.,8.11.04,”struggle for justice” by a prominent Supreme court Advocate Mr. Harvinder Singh Phoolka, .You can understand from it, how the Govt. Police and even the Judiciary, toppled Mr. Phoolka”s effort to prosecute the culprits. In the case of a congressman Mr. Jag dish Tylter, the CBI recently withdrew the prosecution case, for want of witness. You can see another story “Key Witness in Anti Sikh Riots cases surfaces”, attached to the article of Phoolka. But it seems no action has been taken by the CBI or Govt. to get he witness brought to India. It seems Supreme Court take notices only in Gujarat riots an not the Sikh riot, because in the former BJPis involved and in the latter the congress .Is it not?
LIKEWISE two rape cases of Kerala “Suryanelli and Ice-cream parlor” all the witness have a turn-around after disposition to the Magistrate first and disowned it. The two cases wee dismissed. Similar was the case in Gujarat, , but Supreme court reopen the case and prosecuted the witness.
. But in the case of Kerala, your court dismissed the petition filed by Women activist Ajtha. Both the cases are identical, but you took up only Gujarat . The reason is the same as I pointed above. In the Kerala case, the VIP congressmen are involved. .
Thre are so many such cases, when Judiciary stands by the Ruling party. Another case is that of Mr. A.R. Antulay, former CM of Maharashtra.,who was charged with huge corrupting cases. The trial court and division bench of the Bombay High court, found him guilty and punished for rigorous imprisonment and fine. On the appeal filed by Antulay to SC, after dragging for5 yrs, instead of going through the merits and demerits of the findings of the lower courts, which is the basic duty of SC, you appointed a Commission, of a Retd.SC Judge, to investigate the Antuly affair. Is it not strange that the SC took an unusual path to protect Mr.Antulay, at the pressure from the then PM.. The Commission again took abut 10 years to investigate each and every grain of the Sugar and Cement (his corruption charges relate to Cement and Sugar) involved in the corruption against Antulay and finally found that he is not guilty. 15 years have been lapsed in between. It was reported in a weekly in Bombay that the Commission Chairman built a fallacious house and got married his two daughters during the period of investigation. .
The common man expects the Judiciary to be unbiased, and treat all citizens equally under law. During he past 60 years of independence , can you show a single Politician punished for corrupt practice, but instead , you can see so many poor clerks or peons punished under corruption . Is it that no politician in India are dishonest, fraud or criminal.?. It is because the Judiciary from lower level to Higher ups are favoring the Rulers, out of fear. Our Democracy will work to its real meaning, only when the Govt. Police and Judiciary will be strict in implementing the laws of the Lnd. . You have seen the Political corruption in Bihar, Goa, Orissa,UP, etc, where the congress party initiated fraudulent measures to take power though back door . Mahatma Gandhi’s name is misused by the Rulers to mislead the poor and illiterate voters.
We have full respect to you personally and afraid whether you are also under influence of the Rulers. Please excuse if I have written over enthusiastically. We can only do this, as we are unable to fight the mightly.
